Lots to Do, Where to Begin?

Upon completing his bypass of the damaged environmental unit, Callum left the Delphi Amphitheatre behind and returned to Ops. Roughly half the station was still in various states of construction, his office and many of his science labs included, but Ops was largely complete, and Callum would be able to carry out his duties there.

As he made his way back to the station’s Operations Centre, he considered the man he’d just met; rude, opinionated, arrogant and with a chip on his shoulder the size of a small moon. No doubt his life story would explain those traits, but Callum was in no hurry to hear it. If he never crossed paths with Alan Ganna again, it would be too soon.

Given the size of the station, it took fifteen minutes for him to reach Operations. Callum moved straight to the science station and logged a maintenance request with engineering to replace the environmental unit. He also added a note warning whoever was dispatched of Doctor Ganna and his ‘sunny’ disposition.

There was a lot for him to get caught up on. First, there was the matter of updating himself on the current status of construction of the science sections of the station. Second, he wanted to get up to speed with the current situation on Rigel V and Refugee Zone 17.

Refugee Zone 17 was of particular interest to him. Not only did he want to familiarise himself with the ongoing humanitarian operations but also of the work to terraform the planet, to make it more habitable to the Romulan refugees and create a viable, long term settlement for them. He hoped to be able to travel down to see first-hand the work being done.

Before any of that he would have to officially report for duty to Captain Carlin and meet with the stations science staff.

‘I think I’m gonna like this assignment.’
